

Francis "Frank" Hupfer of Babylon, NY passed away on October 28th, 2023. He is survived by his beloved wife Madeline of 64 years; his adoring children Thomas Hupfer(Bridget), Francine Kelly(Kevin), Regina Ruoppoli (predeceased by his son in law Gene); His grandchildren Christopher Ruoppoli(Amanda), Lauren Weiss(Corey), Keith Kelly, Kayla Kelly, Kasey Kelly; and his great-great grandchildren Gabriella Weiss, Madeline, Robert and Mia Ruoppoli. Francis was predeceased by his sister Mary DeMartinis.
Francis was very proud of his military service having served in the Navy during the Korean war, followed by nearly 30 years in the reserves. He retired from the United States Postal Service, in Babylon Village where he was a letter carrier, He later went on to also work village security. He took part in such organizations as NALC, NERA, AOH Babylon and Tin Can Sailors. Frank could often be found playing his harmonica, kazoo, rooting for the NY Rangers or Yankees, or bowling. He loved going to the movies with his grandchildren and spending time with his many nieces and nephews. Francis was happiest when surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by the people who loved him and the community he served for so many years.
A visitation for Frank will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A visitation will occur Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 700 Albin Ave, West Babylon, New York 11704. An internment will occur Friday, November 3, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, New York 11933.
