Poppa, 
It has been a year and a day and it still feels like just yesterday! Losing you has not been easy although I act strong about it just like you would expect me to.  I think of you every single day whether it's driving past your block or pinning my badge proudly on my chest as I follow in your footsteps as I always dreamed of. You truly were an inspiration to me and always will be! You were an amazing man that always put everyone before yourself, and as I reminisce of all the good times and the trips to the pheasant or for dirty water dogs or the many trips to the model store! I will never ever forget you and cannot wait to meet again! I can't thank you enough for making me into the man I am today and I will try my best to make you proud as I move up the ranks within the police and fire dept.

I first met Jim around 1981 when he came to the third squad det's from the 1st.  He was a sharp dresser and always dressed to the hilt.  I worked in a SOP program with jeans and sweat shirts.  His first job with us was seaching swamps in West Islip.  Jim for days went on about real detectives wear suits.  I will miss him and always cherish the memories.  Rest In Peace Brother.

Even though in my younger years I was petrified of you and always fought and screamed, I grew to realize what an amazing man you really were.  The only thing intimidating about you was how well-rounded you were and all of your achievements.  From the Coast Guard, the Police Department, the Fire Department, and the town work, you've always made our name famous.  You always tried your hardest with everything you did and always tried so hard for my love.  Well Poppa my love for you isn't going anywhere, but will carry on with me forever until that day comes where we reunite.  Thank you so much for all your continued love and support.  I love and miss you Poppa and Billy Bear does too!
