I was so sorry to hear about Marie’s passing.  When I was a young teacher just starting out, Marie was a more seasoned colleague, always willing to share advice or ideas.  When I worked with her, she always taught second grade, and since I taught first grade and later third grade,  we were always linked by our common students, including one special student, her daughter, Mary! In our retired years, I enjoyed Marie’s company at our monthly “Lunch Bunches”.  Reading these messages and seeing all these pictures, leaves me with a warm feeling of a life well lived. I’m sure she will be missed dearly. My sincerest condolences to Mary, Jennifer and Barbara.

Marie Owen's was a second mom to me. Mommy Owen's. So many wonderful memories.  The holidays spent at our apartment, the scavenger hunt for my cabbage patch doll, New Years Eve  , coffee chats and I will never forget when I lost my apt. To a flood Dad Owen's and Mom called and said when are you coming. Jim and I love you very much. We hope you are having a delicious cup of coffee and reading your favorite book. 

Some of my favorite childhood memories are going to Aunt Marie's house. I always felt loved around her. It was especially fun when us girls went for a walk (they probably wanted all of us kids out of the house). Aunt Marie always remembered my birthday and sent me cards over the years. She was a great sister to my dad. She will be missed. My condolences to her children, I know it is a great loss. She lived a very full life and will continue to bless us all with her memories.

To Mary and family so sorry about loss of your Mom, she will be at peace now, may you remember all the good times you shared with your Mom. Dad

Growing up with Marie as my grandmother was such a true blessing. From reading us her favorite childhood stories to sitting at the dinning room table doing our morning crossword puzzles when we would visit (I did sudoku- I didn’t have near the vocabulary she did!), she would even mail me puzzles she cut out of the paper so I could still “do them with her”. She loved us and never failed to remind us of that, but that couldn’t match how much we loved her. ❤️

This is one of my favorite memories of mom. She was visiting me and the kids in Oregon and we decided to do something fun. She and I went on a winery tour. We had a lot of fun and many laughs. I remember this nice older gentleman kind of flirting with mom. It was innocent and endearing. It was a wonderful day!
