My deepest heartfelt condolences to the Kern family, friends and loved-ones. Mikes passing seems so surreal... I was very fortunate to have known him. He was a really good guy, who always went above and beyond to help others. I have to believe he's in a better place. However, he will be deeply missed...

I just learned of Mike's passing.  Words can not describe the sense of loss I feel right now.  Mike was a true and honorable gentleman and will be greatly missed.

I still can't believe he's gone.  Thinking of "Kernel" every minute of every day.  My prayers are with his family, Leila, and friends.  What a loss.

I cannot begin to express the sadness I feel about your loss.
I moved away to Florida in 1980 and knew that any time I visited New York, Mike would make time to come by to say hello.  He brought joy to any room entered.  Mike was a loved and loving part of our family, a brother to us all. My father loved him so much that it made us all a little jealous.  But Dad had it right. So much to say, I don't quite know where to begin. To Mike's family, I am so sorry to hear about his passing. Hoping it will be of some comfort to know how many people care about him and how much he'll be missed.

It was shocking to hear about Mike's sudden passing.  He was such a nice guy and I just loved his adorable face and that smile!  My heart goes out to all of his friends and family!
