

Robert T. Matuozzi, 73, of North Babylon, New York, passed away on February 11, 2026, just days before his 74th birthday. Born on February 18, 1952, Robert lived a life defined by devotion to his family, his profession, and the many passions that brought him joy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan, and his beloved children: David Matuozzi (Hailey), Julia Matuozzi, and Marc Matuozzi (Dannielle). He was a cherished grandfather to Jacob, Tyler, and Dylan, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life. Robert was a devoted brother to Paul Matuozzi (Susan), Bill Matuozzi (Heidi), and Vincent Matuozzi (Celeste), and the late Loretta Fiola (Dan). He also leaves behind many dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Family was at the center of Robert’s world. He was a constant presence in his children’s lives, coaching each of their soccer teams as they grew up and offering steady encouragement and guidance both on and off the field. His home was always filled with music—often his classic rock favorites. An avid guitarist, Robert enjoyed both electric and acoustic guitar, embracing an eclectic taste in music that reflected his vibrant spirit. He also found peace and pride in tending to his garden, especially his beloved roses. As the years went on, Robert developed a passion for photography. His favorite places to capture moments in nature was Robert Moses State Park Beaches and the lighthouse on Fire Island. He even could be seen taking memorable photographs at parties for family and friends.
Robert’s true calling was his work as a clinical psychologist. For 25 years, he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his profession, touching the lives of countless students and colleagues. He was beloved by staff and students alike for his compassion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment. His impact extended far beyond his office, leaving a lasting legacy of care and understanding.
Robert will be remembered for his warmth, his steady presence, his love of music, and his deep devotion to those around him. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation services will be held on February 16, 2026, at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Homes, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on February 17, 2026, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 455 Hunter Ave, West Islip, NY 11795. Interment will follow at St. Charles Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
