Teresa Barbara

Teresa Barbara, age 98, of Lindenhurst, New York passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023. Teresa was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 20, 1924. She passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospice Center in Port Jefferson, NY. Teresa spent her life caring for and loving her children, Marie and Michael, and later her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Teresa was a seamstress for many years, and later on, was a long-time member of the Rainbow Center in Lindenhurst, and an avid traveler and bingo player.

Teresa is predeceased by her husband, Mario, six of her eight siblings: Leonard, Andrew, Angelina, Bill, Salvatore, and Anna, and many friends that she loved dearly. Teresa is survived by two of her siblings, Joseph and Carmella, and her two children, Michael and Marie. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Michael Jr., Andrew, Michele, Debra, Matthew, Christopher, and Jacquelyn; twelve great-grandchildren: Michael, Madeline, Emily, Danny, Maya, Melissa, Brianna, Ava, Ryan, Lianna, Emerson, Aiden, and one more on the way.

Teresa was known for always having a story to share, advice to give, and a warm meal waiting for anyone who visited. She had a gift of bringing people together and making people laugh. She always put her family first and would do anything for those she cared about. To know her was to love her, and she will be deeply missed by all the loving family and friends she leaves behind.

Friends may visit on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Claude R. Boyd - Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main St, Babylon, New York 11702. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 210 S. Wellwood Ave, Lindenhurst, New York 11757.

Teresa will be laid to rest in Pinelawn Memorial Park and Garden Mausoleums, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, New York 11739.
