Antonia Ramirez Garza was born May 10, 1922 in Cuera, Live Oak County, Texas and went home to be with our Lord on March 4, 2011 in Bakersfield, California. Antonia was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Barbarito Garza; 3 children, Pedro A. Garza, Valentina Garza and Agapito Garza. She is survived by 10 children, Librado, Juan, Onesimo, Rita, Isidro, Victoria, Barbarito, Porfirio, Joe and Benny; 35 grandchildren; 77 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Antonia had a deep love for her husband, Barbarito, and all her family. The joy of her life was praising God through music. Mama was a true prayer warrior. Antonia and Barbarito founded the first Hispanic Wesleyan church in Kern County which started as a mission in Arvin, California in 1974 and became a church in 1978. Antonia had a robust sense of humor and deep love of life. She loved to work in the garden, especially growing her roses. She was a role model of a wife and mother throughout her 58 years of marriage to daddy. All of us in the family eagerly await the glorious day that we are reunited with mama and daddy in heaven.
