Jim grew up in Fresno and served in the Air Force during WWII as a P-51 pilot. He married his sweetheart, Betty Jane Knight, and they spent over 63 years together. Golfing, fishing and hunting were his favorite pastimes. At age 75 he accepted Jesus as his savior.
He is survived by daughter, Susan Dillon-Erlenbaugh; son, Jim Beggs, Jr. and his wife Stacey; son Ken Beggs and his wife, Vickie; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Beggs and his wife, Mittie; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 22nd, at Laurelglen Bible Church, 2801 Ashe Rd., Bakersfield, CA., at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Laurelglen Bible Church for Truth Ministry.
