DR. LEO MAUPO FUENTES

October 2, 1942 – July 28, 2011

How do we begin to talk about a man who was so special? Good dad to Gail, L.J., Paul and Ivy. Good grandpa to Caleb and Ivy. Good husband to Dr. Felma J. Fuentes. Good friend to his colleagues and contemporaries and most of all a very competent and compassionate physician.

Leo was born in Ozamiz City, Philippines on October 2, 1942. He graduated MD from SWU Cebu City, Philippines in 1968. Post graduate training in the University of Cincinnati, Ohio and Wayne State University, Michigan. Board Certified and re Certified in Emergency Medicine. He was director of the ER in Heritage Hospital, Michigan and Corcoran District Hospital, California. He also worked in Good Samaritan Hospital, Urgent Care, St. Therese Medical Group in Oildale, National Health Services, and Access health, California.

He did not really talk a lot about his accomplishments, certificates and awards. He was a good Christian who read the Bible and prayed the Rosary. We are sure that when he passed away our Lord gave him a certificate that says “WELL DONE”.

We are now happy to know that “HE IS FREE”. No more pain, no more worry. He is now smiling at all of us . . . from a better place.

We all love you Leo. We will miss you a lot. We will never forget you. We will meet you again someday . . . on that “BEAUTIFUL SHORE”.
