William “Jack” Blanton, husband of the late Mary Ellen Blanton and father of three daughters, died Saturday August 8, 2020. Jack was born to William and Janie Bell Blanton in Virginia and lived on the family’s farm with his three brothers. Eventually, he moved to Baltimore where he spent the rest of his life. He was a stock car racing enthusiast and worked on engines while members of his family drove in races in the days before NASCAR. He was a veteran of WWII and prior to his military service was a Merchant Marine. He and his wife spent many enjoyable hours playing cards, bowling and taking bus trips with friends. Jack worked as a crane operator and a sheet metal mechanic installing dust collection and environmental control systems. He was an excellent cook and excelled at making pancakes on the weekends when his daughters were still at home. Jack never met a bad joke he didn’t like and was happy to share them. He leaves behind two daughters, two sons in law, a grandson and several nieces and nephews.
