Deepest Sympathy to the Dennis Family from the Edmonton Shier Family:

Alvin & Ruth(deceased) their children Edna, Ralph, Maxine, Bruce, Clara & Delson.

Our parents Ruth & Alvin Shier along with Alice & others were founding members of Jasper Place/St. Andrews United Church.  The church was the back bone of our upbringing & Alice was a much cherished friend of our mother Ruth, as far back as we can remember. 
For my siblings & myself Alice was a part of our growing years, Sunday School teacher & CGIT leader for my sisters & myself. What I remember of
Alice was her magnetic personality her sense of humor, her enthusiasm, optimism & love for life.  She took interest in all of us during our growing years & attended all our weddings.  We are all richer for having had her a part of our growing years.  Except for Delson we all left Edmonton to further our carriers.On home visits Alice was always interested in family updates & reminisce the good old days.
We are all grateful for her friendship & profound kindness to our mother in her last years of her life with all the phone calls & rides to church.

Alice Dennis was a Church friend and a great help to me as well, when I was Church Secretary at St. Andrew's, 1981-93.  She would be the first one to volunteer to help collate a Church Newsletter or Annual Report.  We'd also celebrate our January Birthdays, mine on the 9th and hers on the 24th.  I last saw Alice at Rosedale, the year before she moved. Illness prevented me from a return visit.   I was sorry to hear of your loss.   Arlene Fowlis.
