Dave grew up in Cochrane, and from a young age dreamed of being a cowboy. From rodeoing to ranching and everything in between, he truly spent his entire life following that dream. Along with being a successful rancher, Dave was also a talented artist. The saddles he crafted were among his proudest accomplishments.
Dave loved hockey and was both a player and a coach. He often spoke fondly of the teams he played on and the players he coached over the years. Later in life, he developed a love for golf and spent many hours on the course trying to perfect his game while sharing his appreciation for it with his grandchildren.
Although Dave had many passions and talents, he was most at home sitting around the kitchen table with family and friends, reminiscing, telling stories, and enjoying good company. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, William and Emily; his brothers, James and Robert; and his grandson, Dallas Lind.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 60 years, Lynn; his children, Sandi Lind, Dean (Kym) Lathwell, and Lisa (Jay) Maygard; his grandchildren, Devon Lind, Nathan Maygard, Maryn Lathwell, and Jack Lathwell; as well as his extended family and many dear friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at Rich Valley Agriplex on July 14th, 2026 at 1:00pm.
