Edith Lorraine Elliott

The family of Edith Lorraine Elliott (née Thomasgard), beloved wife of the late Wayne Elliott, announce her passing on September 20, 2026, in Barrhead, Alberta at the age of 88. She was a resident of Shepherd’s Care Foundation.

Edith was born to Olai and Clara (Aspen) Thomasgard on September 4, 1938, in Chelan, Saskatchewan. Edith was one of five children and was raised on a farm close to Chelan. Edith married Wayne Elliott in 1959 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan and soon after moved to Wawanesa, Manitoba before settling in Yorkton, Saskatchewan in 1964. Wayne and Edith were blessed with five children between 1960 and 1972 and raised them at the house at 452 Mountview Road. Edith showed unwavering love and support in raising all five children and was proud of everyone’s achievements.

Edith was a stay-at-home mother until 1983, when she started her 20-year career with Sask Home Health Care. Edith made many friends in Yorkton with neighbors of 50+ years and was a member of Westview United Church.

Edith would move to Barrhead, Alberta in 2022 to be closer to her daughter Cherryl and her husband Bill, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

Wayne and Edith made many trips to Alberta, where all five children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren lived. She especially enjoyed spending time at the family ranch outside Strathmore.

Edith will be remembered by her daughter Cherryl (Bill); sons Trevor (Reshelle), Derek (Jennifer) and Darwin (Sandra); grandchildren Krystal, Brandon, Jordan, Austin, Dylan and Jack; great-grandchildren Ava and Jessica and brother Ron (Florence).

Edith was predeceased by her parents Olai and Clara Thomasgard, husband Wayne (2021); sister Audrey (1985); brothers Darryl (2009) and Ralph (2011); and son Kevin (2015).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Tisdale, SK. In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to Telemiracle.
