Following a short but magnificent fight with pancreatic cancer. She leaves behind her loving family, Husband Alan, Sons Stuart (Tanya) of Onoway and Nick (Stacey) of Mayerthorpe. Six grandchildren, Robyn, Bailey, Sam, Aiden, Kadey and Amie. Parents Jim and Sally Lipscomb of Spruce Grove, brothers James (Sue) of Cambridge, UK., Nick (Ruby) of Jasper and Rod (Hazel) of Kettering, UK.
Fay was born in Exmouth, England and in her early years moved frequently, her family being in the military. She lived for short periods of time in, among other places, Hong Kong, China. Barnard Castle, England. Later Eastcote, England.
Fay and Alan met in 1965 and they married in Ruislip UK March 1967.
Stuart was born in Dec 1971 and Nick, April 1974. Both in England.
Fay, along with Alan, Stuart and Nick, came to Canada in 1979 and settled on a small farm South West of Sangudo later moving to a larger farm North East of Sangudo remaining there until recently. For a short time she worked at the Alfalfa plant in Mayerthorpe and at Dr. Jones office in Sangudo. Later she started at the Lac Ste. Anne County office, Sangudo in Payroll and Benefits and was there for about 13 years.
Having left the County she embarked on a career in the Insurance industry with Easton Gould in Mayerthorpe. This she enjoyed enormously but she was only able to do this for a relatively short time until health problems forced her to retire.
Over the years she became well known in the local community supporting the Minor sports association and also the local community club at Cosmo. Fay loved her family dearly and was so very excited with the arrival of her first two grand children several years ago. This enabled her skills with a sewing machine to come to the fore and her output of garments for the little ones was truly amazing. Regardless of her poor health over the last few years, her output was maintained.
She also managed two trips to Australia with her husband to visit relatives and to enjoy the climate there, the second being earlier this year.
Fay was a very fair minded person who would help anyone and sometimes spent huge amounts of her day doing just that both at work and also in her own time.
Her first thoughts were always for the other person even right up to the end. Earlier this year, finding out she was very seriously ill, she decided to take her complete family on a Disney cruise ship in the Caribbean and she managed to do this. This will be a lasting memory for her grandchildren. Rest in peace Granny, we love you. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 20, 2006 at 1 PM from the Peavine Community Hall. Memorial donations may be sent to the Alberta Cancer Foundation 1150 University Ave Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2 Rose Garden Chapel of Barrhead in care of arrangements. 780 674 4644
