October 14, 1955 – November 2, 2025
With heavy hearts, the family of Florence Patricia Hill announce her passing on November 2, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on October 14, 1955, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Florence grew up surrounded by the beauty and warmth of the province that would always hold her heart.
Florence lived the majority of her life in Cape Breton, where she built lasting friendships and dedicated herself to her community. She was especially proud of her work with the Baddeck Tourist Bureau, where her passion for people, her natural warmth, and her love shone through in everything she did. She had a gift for making others feel welcome, whether they were lifelong friends or first-time visitors.
Those who knew Florence will remember her as funny, caring, and endlessly kind, someone who would do anything for anyone. She had a quick wit and a playful sense of humor that brought laughter wherever she went. A devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend, Florence was the kind of person you could call for advice, a laugh, or simply a listening ear.
Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she took great joy in being part of their lives. After many happy years in Nova Scotia, Florence moved to Alberta to be closer to her son, his wife, and her two youngest grandchildren, creating new memories and sharing her boundless love across provinces.
Florence is survived by her loving son; Roger (Alisha), her cherished grandchildren; Roger, Heaven-Leigh, Amelia and Elena Hill, her siblings; Celina Rozicki (Joe), Jimmy Goode (Marguerite) and her sister-in-law; Faye as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband; Donny Hill, parents; Chester and Ada Goode and siblings; Sonny Goode, Ruby Macpherson.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Keir Care Continuing Care Home for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Florence over the past two years.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, in April 2026, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of a life well-lived and deeply loved.
Forever remembered for her laughter, generosity, and love of life, Florence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
