Helene Dievert

It is with heavy yet peaceful hearts we announce that Helene has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior. She is survived and deeply missed by her five children Nancy (Andrew) Hertwig of Barrhead, Sandra (Bruce) Cober of Barrhead, Ken Dievert of Barrhead, Lorrie (Darren) McCullough of Edmonton, Patti (Ivan) Kosik of Calgary; seven grandchildren Kristen Veenstra, James (Jessica) Hertwig, Sabrina (Jake) Anderson, Rylan Dievert, McKenna Dievert, Kalista Donaldson, Samuel Kosik and Autumn Kosik; three great-grandchildren Madeline Veenstra, Jordan Veenstra and Gracelynn Hertwig. Helene was predeceased by her husband Erven Dievert and daughter Alice Dievert. She is also survived by her youngest sister Elsa Jassmann of Aldergrove, BC and many wonderful sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews as well as many friends. Helene quickly embraced life on the farm when she was first married. Even though life brought many hardships and challenges she always was a very positive, encouraging and loving person with a strong faith in her Lord Jesus. She is also fondly remembered for the lovely meals she prepared for family, friends and she enjoyed catering at Gardenview Hall. She also loved to garden and happily shared her harvest. Even as her health was failing over the last few months she remained steadfast in her faith and love for her family and many friends. Helene appreciated the care given to her by the many doctors and nurses. Her children thank everyone for looking after mom so well. A private family service was held on May 9, 2020. Donations gratefully appreciated to the charity of choice.
