Hugh was raised on the pioneer family homestead at Winterburn, AB by Charlie and Irene Stewart. He achieved a career as a General Surgeon. In retirement, he enjoyed active rural acreage life in Barrhead County.
Survived by wife Sylvia, children Dylan (Jasmine, son Charlie) and Jennifer, stepchildren Heidi Oshry (Clive, sons Max and Sam) and Stuart McFayden (Nicole, daughter Billie), sisters Patricia Fields (Tony) and Jean Stewart, and nephews Jeffery and Grant Burkell and their families.
