So sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. My enduring memory of him is a smiling face, ready to share a story. He, Marie and their children were wonderful neighbors to us in Barr Manor. We spent a few Christmases together and always enjoyed their company. They were like family to us!
Ken had a special relationship with us and our children. He was a dear friend,  one we will never forget. Gone but not forgotten ❤️

Dear Jana, Greg and Stacy. It is with great sadness that I heard about the pasing of your dear father and my dear friend, Ken. 
I was a friend of Ken's when I lived in Alliance in the mid 1950's and early 60's and I attended Uof A while Ken was there as well. Ken and Marie and myself spent many happy times in Edmonton, Killam, and laterly when we would visit together when they were in Victoria, or when I was in Barrhead or Westlock. 
I loved getting their annual Christmas letters and Ken and I would visit on the phone the last couple of years. Marie was such loving person and I was sad when Ken phoned me about her death. 
I last saw Ken in June of 2022 in Barrhead and we enjoyed a few hours together. Sadly, I did not visit Marie but Ken asured me that he would tell Marie of our vist. 

To all the Wold family I  extend my sincere condolences. Ken and Marie played a special part in my "garden of friendships" of Alberta friends. I am sad tht I have lost two wonderful friends in such a short time.

My sincerest condolences on your families loss. Ken was a dear friend to my parents for decades and to me for the few years I returned to Barrhead.

I am forever grateful for Ken's commitment to giving opportunities to his students to achieve. I benefitted both in his class and during the year he organized and supervised a junior high team for the ITV quiz show, Hi-Q. The championship was as much his as ours.

Our deep condolences to all the family, Ken was a great person. we will miss his phone call as he was always up for a good chat about family and current events. The world needs more people like him.

I have so many fond memories of Ken and Marie.  I first met them at Christmas time in 1969, when, as a new bride to Ken's cousin, Brian Newman, and new to Edmonton, we were invited to share Christmas with them in Killam.  I was overwhelmed with their kindness and generosity!  Over the years we enjoyed the story poems sent on each year's Christmas cards.  Ken was so supportive of my mother-in-law, Joy, after my father-in-law passed.  I had the pleasure of seeing him last in June of 2024 when I travelled to Edmonton for a quilt show.  As always, he was so pleasant and gracious and insisted on paying for lunch for me and his sister, Diane.  He was a lovely person and I share in the family's grief at his passing. I loved Ken. He was an important mentor to me. I wanted to be like him when I grew up, and I gotta say, I kinda am. I am Grateful for all the time I spent with him (and Marie❤️)
 I still have a poem he wrote me (on a ping pong paddle) for my high school graduation hanging on the wall of my favourite room. 
I am so sorry to hear of his, and previously of Marie’s passing.  They were truly cherished people from my youth  who shared their generous spirits with me and all those they knew. All the best to their families.

Our sincere condolences to the Wold family.  I remember your Dad, Mr Wold a teacher and an active member of the Meadowview community.  He always had the ability to make time to catch up with life and so genuine with the ability to make you feel heard.  A wonderful man that will be dearly missed!

Ken and I taught together at the Fort for a few years prior to his "retirement".  Never have I known someone to make such an impact and become so loved in a short time, simply by being himself.  
One time Ken had to cover my kindergarten music class while I attended a meeting.  He was so out of his comfort zone and complained upon my return "They wouldn't stop touching me!"  
(A few years later he would become the world's greatest grandpa.)

We have kept in touch for over 30 years and always  laugh about the escapades we would all get up to like playing bocce at the river cabin, skiing by moonlight at Thunder Lake, gathering for murder mystery dinners, and sitting around a bonfire.  

Ken, you will be so missed.  I love you and wish you a safe journey onto the next chapter.  Cheers to a dear friend.

Sincerest sympathies to Ken's family. In our younger years, we rode the school bus together, and became very good friends. Ken was a caring, gentle young man. I'm sure he will be deeply missed by all who  know him.

So sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. I first met Ken when he was an integral part of the teaching staff of J.R. Harris Junior High School. I worked with Ken for  six years, during which time,  he and Marie, became friends. He was well respected by all staff members  for his common sense approach and words of wisdom. He was an excellent teacher who was devoted to his students and his  profession.  As Principal, I could always count on Ken to keep me tuned in to the feelings of staff with regard to the operation of the school.  Thanks Ken for your life, devoted to service to students and teaching.

We offer our sincere condolences to the entire Wold family on the passing of their father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and brother. Ken brought laughter and humour into everyone’s lives.  He mostly poked fun at himself and was very tolerant and understanding and always had time for others.  He loved to read and play games (especially crib for a penny a point)!  We have known Ken for 50+ years and his friendship will be missed.  I will especially miss hearing him say,  “Holly Hanna” !

Like many others, I was sad to hear about Ken’s passing.
He was a genuine, kind, down to earth person. He was a mentor to and moral compass for many young people.
Students were drawn to him because they knew he would listen. They also knew he wouldn’t pull any punches. If Mr. Wold was disappointed in their behaviour or effort, he would let them know. And most times they heeded his advice.
A life well lived. . .

Mr. Wold taught me in grade school. He was the nicest man and the sweetest, kindest teacher. I had so much respect for him. I saw him not that long ago as he came to visit his wife at The Keir Care Centre (I think) and I recognized him immediately! And his voice was so familiar, too. He brought back many fond memories just by saying hello. He showed me how to be a kind and patient teacher.

Ken and I shared many laughs. Today I want to share two stories with his family and friends that I hope give them a smile as we remember a truly special human. 

Ken and Marie invited us to their home. Since some of us worked with Ken, we chatted about “Mr. Wold”.  Our three year daughter heard our conversations and cried that she didn’t want to go to Mr. Wolf’s house. 

The second story took place at the Barrhead arena walking track. I was trying to get a group of figure skaters motivated to learn some basic ballet positions. When Ken walked up to the group, I told the skaters to perform their best because Mr. Wold was a ballet expert. We both laughed and assumed the skaters understood this was a joke.  About three weeks later, the same group of skaters were on the ice surface when they saw Ken on the walking track. One  skater pointed to him saying there’s the famous ballet teacher.

We are saddened at the news of Ken's passing.
Ken and Marie were dear friends for many years.We enjoyed so many great times with them.Both of us worked with Ken at different locations during our careers.
He was wise, hard-working a kind and compassionate man with a great sense of humour. 
We loved his tales of the adventure of his family and especially his grandchildren who were adored by Ken and Marie.We will never forget why one of them didn't want to be become an engineer like his dad!
The most fun with them was hosting murder mysteries...we may have to revive one in their memory!
Ken you were well loved by all, You will be missed. Your memory will always remain with us.

I have such fond memories of Ken when he would come to visit my parents when my siblings and I were little. Ken (dad’s cousin) would let  us three kids climb all over him and comb his hair.  I spoke with him at dad’s funeral last year and he reminded me that we three were most likely the cause of his thinning hair lol. 
Ken was such a kind, caring, compassionate and wise man. He will be so missed by so many. Jana, Greg & Stacy (and families) our hearts are with you all during this difficult time.

My condolences to the family. He is going to be missed by the whole community.  He was thought and helpful to many people. When I was in the hospital he came almost every day to play crib with me and when I was moved to Onoway he would come to play with me. I am really going to miss him.

I knew Ken for over 60 years.  We were from neighbouring towns but often interacted at dances and parties, where Ken and I often competed for attention from the girls. Usually we were both unsuccessful. 
Over all those years I never heard anyone say a bad word about Ken. He was a devoted husband, father and friend who willingly gave of his time and effort to help others before himself. Even through rough times, Ken maintained his positive nature. A pleasure to be around, always supportive and kind. 
Ken was a model for what we all should strive to be. 
I am very fortunate to have known Ken as a friend for so long.

Mr. Wold was my favourite teacher and I was lucky enough to have him in both Grade 5 (Social Studies) and Grade 9 (English). He was always encouraging and supportive of his students' learning. He treated all of his students with respect and his classes were always engaging and fun.

I can’t begin to tell all the Ken stories I have.  I probably knew Ken for 35+ years.
Once at the school, in the photocopy room Ken was giving advice on being a good curler.  He said you had to have rhythm and motion.  So of course, he became Mr. Rhythm and Motion.
After giving my granddaughter a Kinder surprise, he became Komodo Ken.
He’ll always be one of the best friends Harold and I ever had.  We shall miss him dearly.

I just learned that one of the greatest men to ever walk this earth is no longer with us. Mr Wold was not just a teacher to me, he was a role model and a hero to me. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have known him and how sad I am now. Rest in peace
