Born in 1938 Klaas farmed his entire life finding joy in God’s creation and the tending of crops and animals. His hobbies and interests included gardening, fishing, trapping, hatching eggs, puzzling, and music. Klaas was instrumental in the formation of the Neerlandia Men’s Choir and served on numerous church committees and community boards. He and his wife Esther had a heart for the hurting, serving as liaisons for many refugee families that the church sponsored. Klaas’ faith took action through service.
