Linda Meunier

Linda was born on November 22, 1955 in Barrhead, to Doreen and Erhard Frescher. She spent her childhood in Drayton Valley before returning to Barrhead, where she graduated from high school.

On March 16, 1974, Linda married her soulmate and best friend Lyle Meunier, and they settled in the community of Mosside. Lyle worked on the family farm while Linda worked at BarrNorth Veterinary Clinic until they decided to start a family, welcoming Kim in 1979 and Kristy in 1983. Linda later worked as an Xray Clerk at the Barrhead Hospital for 30 years, until her retirement.

Linda’s greatest strength and purpose in life was being a wife and mom. She was the heart and soul of her home and always put her family and loved ones above all else.

Linda was an amazing cook and took great pride in her immaculate yard and bountiful garden. She loved calving and harvest seasons, camping with family and friends, country music and dancing, a competitive game of cards, and all special occasions - especially Christmas where her yard was always lit up beautifully.

With her kind heart, thoughtful nature, generosity and ability to make people laugh, Linda touched everyone she knew.

Up until the end, Linda faced every hurdle with determination and grace. There will forever be a hole in our hearts, and everyone that had the privilege of meeting Linda was better for it.

Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Lyle; her daughters Kimberly, and Kristy (Ryan Zelman); her sisters Diane (Ken Reich) and Kelly (Terry Adelman) and nieces and nephews Stacy, Brandon, Ryan, Ellen, Brittany and Kelly and numerous in-laws and extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, her mother and father in law, Paul and Elsie Meunier, and her brother Allen.

We would like to thank family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time. Thank you to the staff of the Barrhead Healthcare Center with special thanks to Dr. De Waal, Dr. Tawfik, Dr. Bernes, Linda Knapp and the entire chemo team at the Barrhead Cancer Center.

A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, April 18th at 2:00 pm at the MTM Hall in Tiger Lily.
