Lynn was born September 22, 1957, in Barrhead, AB; the third and youngest child to the late Mary (2026) and Jim (2002) Fleming. Growing up Lynn loved to play badminton and baseball. He also loved riding his snowmobile and motorcycle, to his mother’s dismay.
For 45 years, Lynn farmed in the Topland community where he raised beef cattle with his loving wife Maureen. Prior to focusing on his own farm Lynn took his turn on the rigs as a motorman, spent a few years on a surveying crew, hauled fertilizer and worked as a farmhand/lumberjack for a cousin in Topland. In his prime years Lynn enjoyed spending time in the bush trapping, hunting and wood cutting. He looked forward to his Sunday crib games with his best friend Larry. In recent years Lynn loved to frequent thrift/antique stores, yard and auction sales, collecting meaningful pieces he would proudly display in his home. He also enjoyed his daily coffee and visits with various family and friends at his mother’s, the local coffee house.
Lynn leaves behind his greatest love in life; his family. He was a devoted and cherished husband of 43 years to Maureen. He was a proud and loving father to daughter Misty and son-in-law Aaron Dueck, son James (Jimmy) and daughter-in-law Brandy Fleming. And his legacy will live on through his grandchildren Shaelyn and Lyndon Dueck and Jesslynn, Brikelle and Jameson Fleming; all who adored their Gramps and are going to miss him dearly.
He also leaves behind sister Joyce (Harvey) Fott, brother Rick (Dixie Fleming, sister -in-laws Bev (Len) Williamson and Lorna (Greg) Gramlich, and Aunt Sylvia Zwarg. Additionally, Lynn will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by his Granddaughter Bria Fleming (2019), daughter to Jimmy and Brandy Fleming. Nephew Scott Fleming, In-Laws Steve and Mary Williams and Cousin Larry Olson; whom he considered a brother.
At the family’s request a private family service will be held with interment at the Topland Cemetery.
The family of Lynn would like to wish a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) for their compassion and ¬¬dedication while he was in their care. Memorial Donation may be made in Lynn Fleming’s name to the Robbins Pavilion CICU 10245 – 111 Ave NW Edmonton, AB T5H 0P5
