Mildred Vera Almond

August 9, 1926 Rouleau, Saskatchewan - October 10, 2026 Barrhead, Alberta.

On Thanksgiving weekend, our Mom Mildred, was welcomed into her heavenly home at the age of 100 years and 2 months old. She will be reunited with all her family members, including her husband Robert Bell Almond and her 3 biological children, Barry, David and Maureen, as well as son-in-law Ron. Mom was predeceased by her 5 siblings and her parents Clara Will and Edward Flemington.

Mom will be remembered and loved by her large close-knit blended family. Her children Eileen, Muriel and Robert, Bob and Dianne, Pat and Nick, Betty Jane/Janie and Rob.

She was a grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother to our family.

When we were growing up, mom was active in the Barrhead United Church, the figure skating club and our school bands. She enjoyed travelling immensely and saw a lot of the world. Hawaii remained her favourite place , with a Hawaiian themed 100th birthday party celebrated. She also loved reading, music and playing the accordion. Mom always had a great appetite for food, especially Italian cuisine.

Thank you to the staff at Hillcrest, for making it home for our mom for 2 decades. We are deeply grateful for the compassionate care given to our mom in the Barrhead Hospital and by the medical team over the last 2 months.

Funeral Service and Interment will be held in the Spring of 2027.
