Noah is survived by his loving parents, Shauna (Skye) Prokopchuk and Todd Prokopchuk; his siblings and best friends, Austin and Talia Prokopchuk; and his half-brother, Elliott Morrow. He will also be deeply missed by his grandparents, Ron and Wendy Taje, Charlene and Al Greenslade, Barry and Diane Prokopchuk, and Pamela Tai; his aunts and uncles, Scott and Charene Taje, Megan and Jordon Stuart, and Alisa Anderson; and his cousins, Claire, Reece and Parker Taje, and Eleanor Stuart. In addition to an endless number of friends and extended family.
Noah was known for his infectious laugh, his love of food, his competitiveness, and the enormous love he carried for everyone around him. He loved hard and with his whole heart. He was quick with a hug and never ended a visit or phone call without saying, “I love you.” From the time he was very young, his piercing blue eyes were filled with adventure and could melt anyone.
Food was Noah’s love language from a young age. Whether he was eating everything in sight and coming back for more, or cooking increasingly complex meals in restaurants, at home for friends, or Christmas dinner for the entire family, food was one of the many ways he brought people together.
Once Noah made a friend, they were a friend for life. He loved big. Family was incredibly important to him. He loved a good cuddle, was always ready to carry his cousins around for hours, and had a gift for getting down on the floor and playing at their level.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, including the ICU nurses—especially Aaron, Kaitlyn, Marco, and Isaac—as well as the doctors, respiratory therapists, lab technicians, and ER doctors and nurses for taking such good care of both Noah and our family during his last few days. The immediate family is also deeply grateful to their family and friends, for their love and support both over the last week and for all the coming time; we’re all in this together. A special thank you to the Alberta Funeral Service Association for their love, guidance, and support during this impossible time.
A service will take place on Friday, July 24th, at Hainstock’s in Edmonton at 2:00 p.m.
Noah’s organs have been donated, and it brings light to these dark times to know that because of him, five families will not have to say goodbye to their loved ones. He was truly one of a kind, and we will love him and miss him forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider registering as an organ donor or making a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Noah’s memory.
