OBITUARY

Robert Lee Jackson

19 March, 1957 – 31 March, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Rose Garden Chapel

Robert Jackson touched the lives of so many people and will be fondly remembered for his warm smile, sense of humour and his down-to-earth personality. Robert passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Robert was a caring father to Janet (Adam) Sommerfeld, Charles Jackson and David (Lany) Jackson, and an affectionate husband to Lorraine Jackson. He loved them with all his heart. He enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren Katerina, Amelie and little Wilhelm who would fly in from Australia to visit. He was very close to his brother, Tom Jackson. Robert loved his nieces Ali (Parker), Rachael, Maggie and Jeri and nephews Tyler (Julianne), Jesse, and Robert.

He was predeceased by his father, Chuck Jackson; brother, Richard Jackson; and his mother, Margaret Jackson.

During his career phase, Robert Jackson worked as a Journeyman Instrument Mechanic and managed his own business. He was well respected in his field. It was during that time that Robert would enjoy golfing and participate in oilfield golf tournaments or the golfing weekends in B.C. with his friends.

Robert Jackson took up motorcycling again in his forty’s and would ride with his friends or his wife to places like California, Colorado, Sturgis, Eastern Canada and the Yukon.

Robert retired at the age of 57 years old. During that time, he worked on many hobbies. He would garden, hunt, fish, and farm. Rob was known for his home-made deer jerky and his raspberry wine. Robert was a very intelligent man and often his friends and family would turn to him for advice on how to fix things or to talk about politics and life. One of his favorite past times was visiting friends in the shop and Robert would host parties where his musician friends would play guitar, banjo, mandolin and accordion. Robert would whistle and tap his feet to the music.

In the morning during the warmer days, Robert would sit with Lorraine (his wife), and Max (the border collie), on the swing on the porch with his morning coffee. He would sit and admire the view of the fields and forest and feel truly content.

Robert will be profoundly missed. May he rest in peace.
