I didn’t realize she had passed! I’m so sorry. I was one of her Grahamwood students in the 60’s in Memphis!! We reconnected not long ago!!!

I'm so sorry for the loss of Ms. Ann. She was  one of the first ladies who welcomed me when my family joined CUMC in the early 2000s.  I had the joy of getting to know her better by working with her in VBS during the summers.  She would often ask me how my job was going (I'm a public school teacher) as she was a retired teacher.  I enjoyed listening to her stories and words of wisdom.  She had such a giving and loving heart. We would greet each other with a warm smile or hug during Sunday services.  I  wish I had been able to attend her service, but I hope you will read these online words instead.  I will miss this sweet lady so much.

I, Jade, and Deuce are sending heartfelt condolences to all of you. Mrs.Francis was everyone’s grandmother and the greatest supporter of them all.  She was at every game, there to cheer us on. She will be greatly missed.

My Mom and Anne started teaching together in 1957 at Grahamwood.  Anne has known me all my life.  I feel lost not having Anne here on this earth as a dear friend!!!  But, I’m grateful she is with my folks in spirit and with all the many fine educators she taught with!!!

Nanny you ran circles around us and put up with a lot at the same time for that I thank you. You were a strong woman.. A loving teacher.. And the best grandmother. I bet Papa was the first to meet you and my mother and my Aunt Deb Deb hugged you tightly also let's not forget Cara who probably made you laugh as all greeted you at the gates. It's not a goodbye, it's see you later.
