Cindy was born to Joe and Betty Gardner on January 18, 1962. For 62 years, she filled us with her love and creativity. After her hard-fought battle with cancer, she left this world to receive her Heavenly Reward on March 26, 2024.
Both her children, Dennis Jr., and Greg, as well as her father, preceded her in death.
Cindy is survived by Dennis, her husband of 41 years, her sister, Cheryle Day (Terry), two nieces, Janet Kincheloe and Lisa Wigginton, and one nephew, Philip Day; as well as eight great nieces and two great nephews.
Cindy's love for the Lord was manifested throughout her life in her work with Great Oaks Church of Christ; and her servant's heart, which she demonstrated through her concern for others. Cindy loved to demonstrate her creative talents to produce an abundance of gifts. Some of these gifts included, crocheted blankets, artwork, hand-made cards, delicious food, and many other beautiful items.
Cindy worked for the Memphis-Shelby County School system for over 25 years. She was often the person to arrive on campus to open the school building.
Her faith was demonstrated by a life of dedication, service, and love for others. She was confident in her faith and in God's Promise of home in Heaven.
We will miss her everyday, but look forward to our Heavenly Reunion.
The memorial service for Cindy will take place on May 4, 2024, beginning at 10 AM at Great Oaks Church of Christ with no funeral home involvement.
Donations in Cindy's memory can be made to the American Cancer Foundation.
