Don volunteered for the U.S. Navy right after high school. He worked as an Aircraft Maintainer for 20 years before retiring as a Petty Office 1st Class. After his military service, he worked for the Memphis City School System for 25 years.
Don married the great love of his life, Mary Ann Land, on Aug 30, 1980. They shared a passion for running together. Don was a huge Kyle Busch fan every Sunday after Catholic services. Don was generous and always willing to help no matter what. He was always supportive of his family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, sisters Sue and Shannon, children Douglas Land, Mark Pfeffer, David Land, Gerald Pfeffer, Juli Stephens, and Deborah Hupp, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
