Dorothy Smith Cowan

Dot was a founding member of the Cordova Gardening Club, a member of the Tennessee Ornithological Society, and loved her family and friends dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cowan.

She is survived by her sons, Charles E. Gross (Elizabeth), William E. Gross (Maria Luz); her daughter, Alice Bowers (Daniel); beloved step-son, Philip A. Cowan (Jennifer); grandchildren, Daniel Frederick Gross, Charles Hamilton Gross (Keaton), Katie Marie Gross, William Joshua Gross, Sebastian Alexander Gross, Talitha Elizabeth Gross, Jackie Danielle Bowers, Emily Alice Bowers, Joseph Howard Bowers; her great-grandchild, Avery Rebecca Gross; and wonderful caregiver, Demetrice Morris.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Audubon Society.

Family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Sunday, November 25th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Services will be at 2:00pm. The family will a have food and fellowship from 3:00pm to 5:00pm after the services.
