Edward Ellis Biggs, Sr. passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the age of 82. After a long, courageous battle with cancer, he died peacefully with his family by his side.
Ed was born in Potts Camp, Mississippi on October 6, 1939 to his father John Henry Biggs and his mother, Hazel Goode Biggs. He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Humes High School in 1957. He then enlisted in the Marines and served for 8 years. He started his own business, Porcelain Enamel, Inc which later became Panel Exteriors, Inc. and ran the company for 60 years. He was a very strong, loyal, and faithful husband, father, grandfather, friend and employer. It was instilled in him as a young man by his father that responsibility was of upmost importance. He lived out this quality in all aspects of his life. There was nothing he enjoyed more than getting out on the golf course with his friends, having fun and joking with one another. He loved sharing a laugh and never shied away from a practical joke. He had a deep personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He was faithful to pray, provide and protect those he loved. He will be thoroughly missed.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Loretta Todd Biggs; six children Vickie Biggs Foust, Robbie Jo Biggs (Walt), Edward “Sonny” Ellis Biggs, Jr. (Rose), Renee Biggs Wikander (Eric), Brad Louis Biggs (Holley-Marie), and Martie Biggs Ray; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and two brothers Henry Maurice Biggs (Patricia) and Robert Wayne Biggs, Sr. (Lewana) and many nieces and nephews.
