Edward Arthur Brusseau Sr., 83, of Bartlett, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019. Mr. Brusseau was a graduate of the class of 1954 at Humes High School. After he graduated high school Edward joined the Air Force in 1955 honorably served 20 years until his retirement in 1975. While serving in the Air Force he obtained the rank of Technical Sargent and awarded the Bronze Star for Valor, Air Force Commendation Medal twice, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross for Valor.
Edward also taught Air Force Junior R.O.T.C. as the Assistant Aerospace Instructor at Germantown High School from 1977-1979. He then worked for the United States Postal Service as a driver in the Motor Vehicle Service and retired after 20 years of service. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a 3rd Degree Mason with Unity Lodge 95. Mr. Brusseau was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 70.
Edward was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Arthur Brusseau and mother Dorothy Lee Noe Howe and stepfather Frank H. Howe. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Lottie Quay Brusseau, his three children; Edward Arthur Brusseau Jr. (Debra), Curtis Lawrence Brusseau (Melanie), Michaell “Shelly” Brusseau, one brother, Lawrence Allen Brusseau, six grandchildren; Tristan Brusseau (Kate), Jared Brusseau, Arianna Sommers, Bailey Sommers, McKenzie Sommers, Courtney Brusseau, Chris Brown (Rhiannon), Amanda Pendergrass (Tony), and five great grandchildren; Trent Brusseau, Madison Brusseau, Brianna Brusseau, Haylee Pendergrass, and Caitlyn Brown.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time at 2pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Chiari & Syringomyelia Foundation.
