She was a graduate of Treadwell high school Class of 1956. She started work after graduating in the trucking industry as a clerical clerk until she retired in August 2001 after 37 years of service.
She was a faithful, fun, loving and high spirited, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A great mix of quick wit, an adventurous spirit, and loved to be fancy. Moma Jo was a member of RaMet - Carnival Crew and volunteered with La Passe. She enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping, and could drive a motor home with grace. Moma Jo was a blessing to our entire family and will be terribly missed.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 39 years, Samuel Leo Salvaggio, and her second husband Vern Chumney; son Jeffery Joe Salvaggio, son-in-law Jerry Wayne Davis and 3 sisters.
JoAnn leaves behind her loving companion Don Byrn; daughters, Cynthia Davis and Tammy (Jeff) Kelly; grandchildren Megan (Brennan) Andre, Jordan (Emilie) Davis, Dustin (Taylor) Kelly, AJ (Casey) Kelly, Sami Jo (Matthew Owen) Kelly, and BJ Salvaggio; Great grandchildren Madelyn, Logan, Stevie, Leo, Eli, Talyn, Grayson, Sadie and Laila Jo, along with many dear friends and extended family.
A visitation for Moma Jo will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 9:00 AM until funeral services begin at 10:00 AM all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
