She received her Bachelor's degree in science from Arkansas State University. Farola worked as a secretary and as a mother for many years. She retired from the Memphis Jewish Community Center in 2003. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church. She had a talent and love of singing and sang in the Memphis Symphony Chorus and various church choirs. Farola also enjoyed watching sports, especially tennis and figure skating.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Paul Turnbow (Stephanie) of Brighton, Tennessee, Patrick Turnbow (Jackie) of Lakeland, and Christopher Turnbow (Michele) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; 11 grandchildren, John Turnbow, Benjamin Turnbow, Matthew Turnbow, Madeleine Murphy, Evelyn Murphy, Katherine Turnbow, Chelsea Turnbow, Bridget Clark, Megan Turnbow, Bruce Cohn, and Andrea Shupack; and cousins, Leon Sanderson (Marilyn) of Collierville, Tennessee and Beverly Mullholland of Toledo, Ohio. Farola was preceded in death by her husband 34 years, Eugene W. Turnbow and her brother, Grenade Brannam.
A visitation for Farola will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133. Graveside committal services will immediately follow.
