George William Parker, Jr.

George William (Billy) Parker, Jr, 73, stepped over into Heaven on October 12, 2017. George was born August 29, 1944 and was a 1962 graduate of Messick High School. He served his country for 4 years in the USAF, followed by a long career in the industrial adhesive sales industry. George was a lifelong outdoorsman and an avid Nascar fan, and enjoyed his retirement hunting and fishing with his many close friends. George was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Pugh Parker Herbert and stepfather, Neil Herbert, and father GW Parker. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Norah Palermo Parker, children Neil, Vincent (Kristi), & Valerie (Spencer Dillard), and his beloved grandchildren Hunter, Caroline, Anabelle, Lucy, Molly & Kate; sister Carolyn Hall (Brooks); stepmother, Ann Parker; half siblings Russ, Ruth, Keith & Kathy; and a multitude of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 18, 10-11:30am in Pollard Chapel at Bellevue Baptist Church. Celebration of life service begins at 11:30am, followed by a reception in Guest Central. Graveside service will be held at 2:30pm at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
