Jerry, was born to Alfred Charles Marince & Matilda Verost Marince, in 1946 in Erie, Pennsylvania. He stayed in San Francisco, California for the majority of his younger life before relocating with his family to the Memphis area. Jerry attended McDowell High School and went on to attend Penn State, pursuing a degree in business administration & accounting.
Jerry’s biggest passion in life was his dear wife Joanie, and second to that was his music. An avid guitar player, with the ability to play by ear. He brought so much joy to everyone who listened to him play, especially his own family. Jerry played in multiple bands in his younger days, the Coachman in College and most notably a 1960’s favorite, Jawbone, while living in California. Jerry was a staunch supporter of animal rights and advocated for homeless animals. Across his career spanning over 40 years, Jerry had the opportunity work for the San Francisco Magazine as a controller, the Coast Guard, Holiday Inn, Quebecor, finally retiring from an e-commerce company in 2019. He is survived by the love of his life, Joanie Marince, as well as his two sons and daughter, Penny (spouse Barry), Edward (spouse Zoe), Jeff (spouse Kathy), his grandchildren Edward, Alexandria, Zoe, Cole and Cody, his sisters Carole Perkins and Elaine Collins. He also is survived by his pet Ziggy. Jerry was an amazing man, brilliant, loving and had a tremendous wit. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed.
