Helen Marie Worthington, the matriarch of our family, went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the age of 83. She was a longtime member of Macon Road Baptist Church. Helen started her career at Studebaker and retired from General Motors after more than 40 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy G. Worthington, and her son, Charles D. Worthington. She is survived by her son, Jim "Chip" Worthington (Kathy) and her daughter, Tracey Worthington Sanders (Todd); seven grandchildren, Justin Worthington, Kellye Worthington James (Patrick), Jared Worthington, Kristi Rudd Guess (Ryan), Brandon Rudd (Ashley), Hayden Sanders, and Heath Sanders; four great-grandchildren, Kade and Layne James, Ava and Finley Guess. Visitation will begin at 1pm, with funeral service to follow at 2:30pm, on Sunday, January 3, 2015, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MADD, the American Cancer Society, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
