

James R. Marineau Sr., 79, passed away on Monday March 2, 2015 after a short illness. James, affectionately known as “Jimmy” and “Grampy” was born on February 10, 1936 in Manchester New Hampshire, the youngest of 13 children. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Zdon Marineau originally of Manchester New Hampshire, they were both currently residing in Cordova TN. He was a 34 year veteran of the US Army and Army Reserves. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Donat and Emma Marineau. He has two Sons, James Marineau Jr. of Arlington TN and Jon Marineau of Manchester New Hampshire, Daughters in Law, Sarah Marineau and Johannah Pranica. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christian Marineau of Huntsville TN, Margaret Walker and her husband Jason Walker of Memphis TN, Patrick McGuire of Bluffton South Carolina, Hailey Marineau of Manchester New Hampshire, Savannah and Drew Rutland of Arlington TN,many neices, nephews and friends. He loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed rounds of golf with his dear friend John and attending Memphis Tigers football and basketball games. “Grampy” took in all of the people he met as his own family, showed love and compassion and was in turn loved by all. He will be greatly missed. A gathering of friends and family will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday March 6 at the Memphis Funeral and Memory Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road Bartlett TN 38133 with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
