She was born on October 17, 1927, in Paragould, Arkansas. She was the youngest of six children born to Milton and Mae Phillips.
Jean had four children: Paul Dickey of Quitman, Arkansas, Karen Dodson (Greg) of Collierville, Tennessee, Carol Wilson (Vic) of Coldwater, Mississippi, and Mark Dickey (Elizabeth) of Olive Branch, Mississippi.
She leaves 7 grandchildren: Julie Turner (Ty), Jennie Holmes (Jason), Brian Dodson (Mandi), Laurie Chism (Chad), Sarah Sides (Jeff), Shelley Geer (Korey) and Noelle Dickey and 9 great grandchildren: Kaleb, Zachary, Aidan, Emma Grace, Colton, Charlotte, Chloe, Austin and Kase.
Jean was a long-time member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Besides her devotion to her family, she also worked as a bookkeeper for The Daily News and a realtor with Century 21.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and her grandson, Kory Dickey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 23rd from 1:00 to 2:00 with a service to follow at 2:00pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (3700 N. Germantown Road Bartlett, TN 38133).
