In the arms of the Lord, Jimmie Dale Forsythe, at the age of 73, was gently led to his eternal home on May 21, 2024 in Arlington, Tennessee. Born into God's grace on September 26, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, Jimmie walked this earth as a testament to the virtues of humility, stewardship, and love.
He is survived by his faithful brother, Ronnie Forsythe; his dutiful children, Lisa Odom (Sherman) and Wendy Hunter (John); and his cherished 5 grandchildren. A host of kin and kindred spirits mourn his passing while celebrating the legacy of his warmth and generosity.
A proud alumnus of Bartlett High School, Jimmie embodied the Christian ideals instilled in him from a young age. His service in the United States Army was a reflection of his commitment to both God and country, as he built lasting fellowships and served with honor and fidelity.
Jimmie's unwavering faith was the bedrock upon which he built his life. As a dedicated servant of Faith Baptist Church, he reveled in the fellowship of believers and the sacred teachings of the Gospel. His heart sang praises to the Lord, whom he adored above all.
Blessed with the gift of a double lung transplant, Jimmie flourished in health for nearly two decades, a walking miracle who eagerly shared the wonders of God's mercy with others. His life was a living hymn of gratitude and praise, glorifying the Lord through his every word and deed.
The faithful are called to gather and honor Jimmie's virtuous life during the visitation at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, Tennessee, on Tuesday May 28th from 5 - 7 PM. A sacred service to commemorate his journey to the Kingdom of Heaven will be held at Faith Baptist Church at 3755 N. Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, Tennessee, on Wednesday, May 29th at 1PM, followed by a sanctified Graveside service.
In remembrance of Jimmie's life of service and his heart full of compassion, the family graciously suggests that donations be offered in his blessed memory to Donate Life America, Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Let these acts of charity be a reflection of Jimmie's enduring spirit and his commitment to the betterment of humanity through the love of Christ.
