JoAnne Wilder Beck passed away at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family. We know JoAnne as a tender hearted and beloved mother, nana, friend, teacher, artist, lover of nature, provider of good food and spreader of kindness.
JoAnne graduated from Treadwell High School and later Memphis State University and Memphis School of Arts. During college, she became a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity Beta Omega Chapter.
Her career path led her to many years of teaching at Bartlett High School, Raleigh Egypt Middle School and Raleigh Egypt High School.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe Beck, and her parents Katie Spencer and Ed Spencer. JoAnne is survived by her children: Stephanie Dahler (husband, Eric) and Mark Beck (wife, Laurie) and her four grandchildren Spencer Dahler, Alexis Dahler, Jacob Beck, and Emma Beck.
A visitation for JoAnne Beck will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. The funeral service will follow from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Memphis Humane Society in JoAnne's name as tribute to her love of animals."
