Margaret Mary Jane Griffith

Mary Jane Griffith, 86, of Memphis, on Wednesday October 26, 2011 passed away peacefully at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital, to be with the Lord. The daughter of the late, James and Dovie Bishop, Mrs. Griffith was the devoted wife of Thomas E. Griffith, Sr. of 32 years, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her son, Raymond Bowers. Mrs. Griffith was employed by Styro-flora Company and also Riverside Speedway in the 1960's. In the 1980's Mrs. Griffith was employed by Memphis Motorsports Park. Those who loved her will cherish the memories of a loving, thoughtful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always had a smile. Her survivors are saddened now but will be forever thankful for a wonderful lady that was a memory maker in our lives. She is survived by her daughters, Charlene (Frank) Freddes of Bradenton, FL, and Lois Bailey of Memphis: her four stepchildren, Claudia Douglas, Debbie Nails, Thomas E. (Betty) Griffith, Jr., and Robin Russe (Peggy) Griffith; her six grandchildren, Ricky Lucas, Lisa Melson, Stephanie Hooks, Kevin Bowers, Pam Dowdy, and Cindy Bailey; 11 step-grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN on Sunday, October 30, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens - Germantown Parkway at 2 p.m. Monday, October 31.
