Marie Pickens McFarland, 84, of Bartlett, Tennessee, died August 25, 2018, at Methodist Hospice in Memphis. She was born October 26, 1933, to Willie and Romadell Pickens in Lockesburg, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Billy D. McFarland. She is survived by her daughters, Rita McFarland and Gale Kula; her son-in-law, Martin Kula; and her grandsons, Thomas and Andrew Kula, all of Bartlett. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Gerald and Thresia Pickens, of Jackson, Tennessee.
A graduate of Millington High School in Millington, Tennessee, Mrs. McFarland spent her life as a homemaker and volunteer. She was a former Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. At the time of her death, she was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements are through Memphis Funeral Home on North Germantown Parkway. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
