Martha Jane (Mebane) Britton, 83, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend of Cordova, died July 7, 2013. She was a faithful member of Cordova Baptist Church. Mrs. Britton is survived by her son, David E. Britton and his wife Angela L. Britton; daughter Pamela J. Hill and her husband William T. Hill; grandsons, Jeffrey M. Hill and his wife Carmen A. Hill, Gregory S. Hill, Andrew White; granddaughter, Emma White; great grandson, Anias J. Hill; brother, James C. Mebane and his wife Judy (Crawley) Mebane, both of Knoxville; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Eugene Boyd Britton. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. this evening, Tuesday, July 9 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Her Celebration of Life service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 10 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Memorial Gardens.
