MARTHA ADAMS DALEY, 98, formerly of Bartlett, TN, died peacefully Feb. 13, 2014, near her daughter in Lenexa, Kansas. She was a Shelby County school teacher and Ellendale Elementary School principal for 34 years. Martha will be remembered by those who knew her as a gifted and fascinating storyteller. Through the years, she served as president of the Quota Club in addition to holding several leadership positions in community organizations and won numerous awards for her floral arranging. Martha is survived by a daughter, Carol Shanklin, and husband Sam, granddaughters, Beth Shanklin and Tricia Pfanstiel and husband Eric, a grandson, Robert Shanklin and wife Angie, and great-grandchildren CJ, Abigail, Grace, Grant and Anna. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 at Memphis Funeral Home, Germantown Road Chapel, Bartlett. The service will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will follow immediately at Chambers Chapel Cemetery, 3185 Chambers Chapel Road. Memorials may be sent to Chambers Chapel Cemetery Association.
