She grew up just a few blocks away from Stax Records, and had many stories to tell about Johnny Cash and Elvis, who was her favorite singer, and who she said was “the most beautiful man she ever saw”.
She was the mother of four children: Phillip Lisenba (Maurrean Barger), the late David Hickman (Eugenia London), Paul Hickman, and the late Kristine Hickman. She had 7 grandchildren: Sawyer, Alexis, William, Sam, Drew, Savannah, and Celeste. She was the dear friend of Diane Gaines and Jeannette Frahm who have been her lifelong friends and will continue to be so until they meet again in Heaven.
Melinda attended Trafalgar Village Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. She loved her Lord and Savior and would want you all to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ, with the hope you find eternal love and everlasting life in His name.
