Dr. Michael Miles, 70, passed away December 18, 2015. He was a retired dentist, having practiced over 40 years, and retired Colonel in the United States Army. He worked for the Department of Corrections as Chief Dental Officer, for the Bureau of Prisons, in private practice, as well as a dental instructor. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Patterson Miles. He is survived by his children: Samantha Miles, Aaron Miles (Stephanie), Chris Patterson (Clancey), Nathan Miles, and Benjamin Patterson, and two granddaughters, Meredith and Sophie. He is also survived by his sister, Shelley Miles Vescovo (Pete), and several close cousins, Stephanie Starnes, Inez Miles, Tom Starnes, Kelley Starnes McIntyre, Terri Starnes Casey, and Rhett Starnes. The family will receive friends Monday, December 28 at 1:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Germantown Road.
