

Murray H. Luckey “Luckey” was peacefully called Home by Our Lord Jesus Christ on January 12th, 2023 at 4:20PM at 68 years of age at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. His family and close friends were at his bedside when Murray got the call home. Born March 19, 1954 in Humboldt, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents James H. Luckey Sr. And Bonnie M. Luckey. He is survived by his daughter Shannon Pittman of Memphis, TN and two sons David Roberts of Memphis, TN and Joshua Luckey and wife Linda Luckey of Bartlett, TN. He leaves behind three brothers, George D. Simmons and wife Margarete of Heiberger, Alabama, Ricky P. Simmons and wife Judy Simmons of Bentonville, Arkansas, James H. Luckey Jr. of Collierville,TN, and sister Judy Luckey of Gibson,TN. Murray’s legacy also lives on in his 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Luckey had a long career in the Heating & Air industry working for Ledic Apartment Management And Fogelman Properties before moving on to Promus Hotel Corporation, after merger Hilton Hotels Corporation as a Area Chief Engineer to multiple Hilton properties, and 23 years for franchise owners Rainwater and Cox. He worked alongside his son Joshua Luckey and was proud to hand down his knowledge and wisdom of Engineering to his son. Luckey was a member of the Scottish Rite and a Master Mason. He loved camping and hiking and spent most of his time with his family in the Smoky Mountains when his kids were younger. He also loved playing his guitars, his plants and herbs in his backyard garden, and watching westerns, especially John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Luckey was looking forward to retiring and spending the rest of his years with his family, especially the grandchildren, and his lifetime friend and partner Tammy Ray of Memphis, TN. Luckey was a wonderful, hard-working man and was a great Father, Son, Pappy to his grandkids, Brother, Uncle and Friend to so many. He will definitely be missed by all of us.
A Non-Traditional graveside memorial will be held by his parents gravesite February 12th at 11AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 3700 North Germantown Road Bartlett, TN. Everyone is welcome to come.
