Nancy Lee Pagenkopf, 65, born in Akron, Ohio April 7, 1950, and passed away August 28, 2015 from complications of a serious infection due to her long battle with colon cancer. Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Roy L. Pagenkopf: two children, son Jason R. Pagenkopf (Wendy) of Bartlett: daughter, Kristi L. Hunt (Aaron) of Bartlett: four grandchildren Ashleigh, Tyler, Hayden and Hannah: parents, Jim and Maxine Brown of Memphis: three siblings, Gary Brown (Sally) of Brownsville, TN, Debbie Goss (Bobby) of Bartlett, and Susan McGoldrick of Memphis: mother in law, Ida Pagenkopf of Arlington. Nancy’s true love in life was her family and friends. Many of her friendships began in elementary school and have lasted a lifetime. Extended families have blended together over the years and have shared unforgettable memories that spread over four generations. Nancy met Roy after his tour with the US Army overseas and they married on May 29, 1970. During this same time, Nancy was finishing nursing school, where she was called upon to devote nearly 40 years taking care of others and sharing herself unconditionally as only she could do. In 1972, Nancy and Roy started a family with the birth of their first child Jason and 21 months later, in 1974 with the birth of daughter Kristi. Nancy, shortly after Kristi’s birth, continued to work full time as an RN, weekends, night shifts and holidays, while all the time caring and loving for husband, children and extended family and friends. Nancy loved outdoor activities…over the years, she loved being involved with her children’s, grandchildren’s and nephews sports. Nancy loved the water…she loved the lake, boating and water skiing. She also loved the beach! She had an infatuation with the sun, warm climates and any and all water activities. She loved family gatherings, picnics, and birthday parties…the planning, decorating and festivities. Her favorite was Christmas. She not only loved the meaning and spirit of the season, but she loved giving! She loved all of these moments because they were her precious times with family and friends. Our daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, mother in law, daughter in law, aunt, cousin and most of all FRIEND has been fighting for several years to stay with us, not for herself, but only in her way, because she loved and wanted to have more time with those most important to her. Nancy will be greatly missed by those who have had the privilege of spending at least a moment with her. She has touched us all and we will carry on her spirit, many times not knowing how much she has affected each one of us with her special qualities that made her so unique.
We Will Love Her Always.
