Born in Memphis in 1942, Pat was the daughter of Charlie and Gladys Holdford. She attended Whitehaven High School, where she was active in the speech club and theater. After her graduation in 1960, she attended Mississippi University for Women. She then returned to Memphis to marry her high school sweetheart, Charles Mason. After getting married, she worked for her father at Holdford Brick Company, as a model at Patricia Stevens Modeling School, and many years as office manager in Charles’s downtown Memphis dental practice. In 1990, they moved to Decaturville, Tennessee, where they continued to work together in Charles’s dental practice and entertain friends and family at “Shadow Wings,” their home on the Tennessee River. Following their retirement, Charles & Pat moved to Spring Hill, Tennessee.
The most important thing in Pat’s life was her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Having accepted Christ as a young girl, Pat recommitted her life to Christ after Charles’s conversion in 1975 and began to grow in her faith and love for the Lord. Pat’s joy in life was showering her family with love and sacrificing to make them happy. She was the pinnacle of grace, elegance, kindness, and fun. She was loved by all for her great sense of humor and quick wit. She enjoyed showing the love of Christ in practical ways to all those the Lord brought to her life. In the years following Charles’s passing, Pat found a renewed sense of calling and fulfillment as a faithful prayer warrior at the Prayer Clinic at Thompson Station Church.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Robert Mason II, and her parents, Charlie and Gladys Holdford. She is survived by her children, Kelly (David) Rogers, Phillip Mason, Robbie (Dabney) Mason; her brother, Randy (Laura Leigh) Holdford and nine grandchildren: Jonathan and Stephen (Shelby) Rogers, Charles Robert Mason IV, Mattie Van, Carlie, Ellis, William, Sarah, and Josie Mason.
