Rayburn was a person that you could always depend on. He was a wonderful person that always exhibited a positive attitude and he loved people. It was truly a pleasure to have known him as a customer, fellow worker and friend. He never was partially committed to any project or person. Very glad I had lunch with him in August. No matter how long you had not seen him it was just as if it was yesterday. Rayburn, I will miss you. Enjoy Heaven.

So sad to hear about Rayburn. I have so many fond memories of him from our days at Dixie School and through the years after graduation at our reunions. Pat, so sorry for your losing him much too early. Will be praying for you and your family.

I met Rayburn in 1976 after joining Malone @ Hyde Drug Distributors sales force. I also shared the distinct honor of being a part of the “Starter” group at the founding of AUTOZONE Inc. But most of all, I was double honored to have shared a friendship all the way up until we learned of his untimely passing Wednesday while eating lunch with fellow comrades at a table of which he was suppose to have been in attendance. Farewell my friend and may the Lord’s hand of protection and comfort be ever upon your dear wife, Pat, and the remaining family members. With all of our love and respect Jimmy and Pam Schmidt.

I worked with Rayburn most of my AutoZone career. He was one of the kindest, most caring, special people. I know he was loved and respected by so many. He will be truly missed by all. We may have lost you but heaven gained another angel to watch over us. Fly high with the angels my friend and I will see you again one day.
