

Rita Faye Knott, 87, passed away January 9, 2014 at the home of her niece, Denise Fort. She resided most of her life in Tulsa, Oklahoma until the past five years where she has resided in Bartlett, Tennessee with her sister. She was an executive secretary in the geology department at Getty/ Skelly/Chevron for many years and a longtime member of Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa. Rita was the kindest, most generous and compassionate person you would ever meet. Rita loved all children. Rita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles W. Knott in 2006; and is survived by her loving step-children, Joan McMurtry, Dennis Knott, Karen J. Curley and Marian S. Scheuer and niece Catherine Mobley. Rita had a very special sister Vesta Loggans of Memphis and Rita was especially close to her brother, Franklin Davis of Germany. She loved her nieces and nephews; Annette Brown, Denise Fort, David Loggans and Oliver Davis as if they were her very own children. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Chapel of Ave Maria Home, 2795 Charles Bryan Rd, Bartlett, TN 38134. The family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, which was Rita’s favorite charity. The interment will be held later at Fort Gibson National Cemetery-Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
